Daghestani Top Politician And Businessman Murdered
Vice-chairman of the People's Assembly of Daghestan (the parliament of the North-Caucasian republic neighbouring on Chechnya) Arsen Kammayev and head of Daghestan branch of Promstroibank Abdulkhalik Musayev have been murdered in Makhachkala, Interfax news agency reported, quoting police sources.
Kammayev and Musayev were shot on Tuesday at about 22:45 (MT) and died later in hospital. Police found at the crime scene a Kalashnikov submachine-gun which had been stolen in Chechnya's capital Grozny.
Criminals managed to escape. Their car has been found burnt down.
A criminal case has been launched. Police believe the premeditated murder was thoroughly organized. But the motive is still unclear.
